Scalloped valance with inverted pleats, tassel trim and a decorative rod

Notice that the pole is fully visible. The valance is mounted on a board and the pole is mounted in front of the pole. This presented a problem in where the brackets would be mounted and how the ends of the valance would be supported past the end of the board.

The decorative brackets were mounted next to the board. The valance had to be extended past the face of the board, otherwise the decorative pole would have looked much wider than the valance.

The problem was how to support the end of the return on the valance as it wrapped under the bracket.

I used black velcro, which blended with the background of the fabric, to hold the return in place, braced on the side of the board.
