This bay cornice was constructed in three different pieces, then butted together when hung in the bay.

Contrast panels with brush trim and large tassel tiebacks are mounted under the cornice.

The cornice pieces are criss-crossed with decorative cording. The cornices were upholstered first with the solid silk. "Ant trails" of staples were laid down to create the grooves for the decorative cording. The cording was then glued down.

The buttons in the center are the heads of swag holdbacks, screwed through the face of the cornice.
